Yellow Eye 02:59
Stumbled up Out of bed Hit the road Cleared my head 1000 miles In 14 hours I believed The world was ours I don't think you ever knew me then An image in your head of where I'd been You could look at me square in the eye Tear it up and toss it like an old skin Put it in my yellow eye Hold it up to the shallow sky I see you there

There is a beach made of Apples & Peaches Where pickers and combers reveal lost moments in time Hammering nails through brittlest bones While lobsters and snails wonder alone And I cry 'cause I follow the lines And I've wondered why all my life I can't feel the knife I fell in love with an angel of darkness Come reap the harvest but don't leave a tenth in the field The surplus we'll leave in the storehouse to rot And we'll we dance 'til we stop and dissolve through the soil To hell Baby, you ring the bell What have I done all my life I can't see the light

Where To Go 02:55
Cut myself, I didn't know Feel your hand around my throat You're my girl and I'm your man The man you need, the man I am? I know where to go I know You don't believe in sacrifice Not enough to roll the dice Come and go as you please Wipe the dust from your knees I know where you go I know I don't know where to go

It seems that I'm the last one to die But at times I can't believe my eyes It's clear at night that I'm the only one still here Turn out the light

about

Written and recorded entirely in the month of February 2023 for the One Month Album project

I didn't have or indeed want any time to reflect on a bigger picture or meaning to this album as I wrote and recorded it. It happened over a one week period between 18th and 25th of February. A session with my band Re-Ash gave birth to the instrumentals you hear throughout the record.

The other songs were written over a couple of days and recorded at home.

This is my favourite way to write. It always fascinates me how creating in an honest and naïve way, without any preconception, the songs and their meaning, lyrics and expressions can take days or sometimes weeks to reveal their meaning to me.

So as these songs and tunes age I'm sure I'll have more to say about them. For now they are songs about loneliness, regret and spirituality.
